Some employees sleep with their Boss to enjoy benefits at work and to win over other colleagues. How far is it just?

A hard working employee gets under paid, more workload and over stressed at work. However the employee who is close to Boss take all undue advantage.... reflect ur views pls.

When the boss is tired of you you may lose your job.
If boss is married - too many problems to contemplate.

Wouldn't do it unless you are married to the boss and it is a family business. Or leave the job then have relationship with your old boss.

The ex world bank president (Walkawitz??) had to resign over his favouring of his girlfriend....

Too complicated to contemplate.

call it sleeping with boss, but in reality it's still called kissing ass. yes it has its perks, but no one has ever admitted they do kiss ass...

i don't know, but i find the idea repulsive...i don't like men who hold power and control over me.
If you think that sleeping with men will give you some material benefits, i would suggest you work as a hooker, at least you can choose your clients, and when you are tired of one, you show him the door. But if you get tired of sleeping with the boss, HE will show you the door. Think about it.

the ppl who sleep with their Boss are professional hookers ;-) and they surely do it for material gains...however they dont like to be designated as hookers as they think whatever they are doing is of a high caliber and they are superior

Probably not a disgruntled employee talking above. Sleeping with the boss is more common in China. I know of several cases. And the women do get promoted early.

However, I doubt it will win over any of the employees who are worth having as friends. Only those who may hpe for some crumbs from the table will suck up.

This is 'bad guanxi'

By Western standards abhorent. But this is not the West.

i have also come across many such cases n these employees try to dominate other employees under the impression that the Boss will take their side and show a blind eye.

Apart from getting pay rise... they manage to take unofficial leave n other benefits which are not given to other hardworking n efficient staffs. At the same time the Boss expects that others dont spk about his affairs and whats happening. It gives a feeling to others that its right to sleep to Boss. Seeing such instances other employees also follow suit n go low on their standards... which seems so cheap.

However i dont know what is bad guanxi and i am not concerned whether it is west or east. i only feel that ppl r looking theirs ethics n moral beliefs and setting a wrong example for other employees and the generation to follow.

Is sleeping with the boss any different from taking him out for drinks and hookers/PR girls like some guys (and some girls) do?

I would say that as long as you are willing to deal with the repercussions of sleeping with someone (your boss, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc...) then why not?

Is it really all that different from the people who show up way early and stay way late just so they have more face time (but really don't do much more work than someone doing the typical 8-5)?

i am definitely not chinese, also my husband, all my friend is not chinese, and all of them are EXPAT none of them has chinese wife or chinese husband, when i came back to my home town, some of my friend, colleague and family warn me, "becareful with chinese lady, they are crook and if they like your husband, they would not care about you, they dont care whether the guy has married or not, because most of them are low educated and does not learn etiquette!" woops, well, i just always remind my hubby, becarefull with HIV AIDS because China is the third one in the world, but when i told my best friend, she said china is the biggest one HIV and AIDS, but they try to cover it! ewww...

sleeping or affair in office is happening in all around the world, but i think, i do agree china is number 1 place to have an affair in office or at work, chinese people is admiring blonde hair, money maker and loved to suck ass!

well, dont be iritate ok, it is the fact! well not all of chinese lady like that, but most of them! do you know how many times my husband got a romantic message in his cell phone from wine shopper? or his office staffs? OFTEN!!! and it also happened to the HRD manager, his wife told me plenty of email contain their naked picture and offering a blow job! geeeee...

we all females do realize, male is like a cat, we put a fish, they will EAT the fish,,, even the fish was expired, skinny and smelly!

only hope my husband was no a person who eat cheap fish! hee hee

it happened. I knew a woman who slept with his swiss boss in HongKong but now they are married and work in teh same company. What's wrong as far as they know it clear and many people are having their half thr biz or work nowadays. Why ? money. everything is related to it. Family needs money, boss wants a staff who can work and make money for his biz as well. I am not surprised.

of course, they are worth for more benefits as sleeping with boss, because they need to work day and night, and both mentally and Physically. see? it is a hardwork too.
and the benefit they got from it must less than their salary, coz Physical work is not expensive these days. Don't get upset when you see ppl earn money by a physical way.

Yes I lost my bf when he was stationed in china...and it has ruined our 12yrs relationship....there are so many temptations there...gals will just turn themselves into u...and one after another...no matter what age u r they just think that the men from outside r their treasure hunts...either a passport, or $...anything is better than dating a local with an average salary of $1600...need 2 keep close eye on yr hubbies.... (based in HK....)
