Clashing Horoscopes +Zodiac signs but personality profiles match
Posted by balzac (489 days ago)
Hi,
Would you go out with someone if your zodiac and horosopes do not match? Any opinions on whether this is all mumbo jumbo. I dont fully believe in it but you never know...
I've been with people whom the H+Z match but it didnt work out anyway, and some were pretty bad experiences.
So is it doomed to failure or shall I just proceed in full faith?

My relationships are 90% Aries and it always ends in tears. Me scorpio. G/F and ex wife (same birthdays), assorted psychos and lunnies - all Aries. Now if I hear Aries I pretty much give up. Saves the pain:-)

>lambada - I would say Aries and Scorpio are a definate no no. Run for the hills!
>balzac - Hmm...sorry, like I said, he's an Aries? Run for the hills! I dont think I know too many Aries born who arent rather full of themselves and self absorbed, not to mention "always think they are right". Cancers are ok, although a bit soft in the middle. :o)

How about Aries and Virgo?
(I am based in Hong Kong)
Posted by balzac (489 days ago)
Just type aries and virgo compatibility on google.
Well, what can I say-the last guy is also an Aries and same chinese zodiac Boar and they both clash with mine. We didn't see the clash till later on, but overall, my last relationship was an enriching experience. Still, it ended because of the same reasons dictated in the horoscope description. I am trying not to be supersitious/old fashioned/etc but I've never met anyone that supposedly clashes on paper but get along great in real life.
This guy is asking me to be his gf and am very tempted. I can't say- Oh our horoscopes and zodiac signs don't match-SORRY.. (would probably not mention it at all. Oh. am I being silly)

Balzac,
according to the compatibility you guys are main to be together, Aries is very strong, powerful and playfull, and cancer is very unstable, sensitive and moody,
if you could be strong enoght to make him fall for you than you are fine, however the chances are very low.
in any case is up to each person, if you want to be strong or not nothing to do with horoscops
BTW... I will never date another sagitarious hahaha

I'm a Scorpio. I am meant to get on super well with Cancers. I dated one for 2 years and it was HELL. Pure hell. (not all the time, near the end)
My hubby is a Sagittarius and all sites say that we are doomed. He's also a monkey and I am a pig. That's meant to be doomed as well.
I still married him.

Im a taurus and he's a scorpio and with us two, its meant to be heaven or hell and nothing in between - and so far that description is 100% right! we're so opposite that it actually works :)

>tia - so true. I dated a cancer for a year and a half and found that combo with my scorpio to be stifling at times. Yes we got along and in many areas it was a great combo, but nah, for all the books saying its supposed to work super, it doesnt.
I am currently with someone I am not supposed to be paired with unless both sides are good at working on things and admitting wrong when they are...and its working pretty good.
I dont think astrological compatibility has anything to do with how you handle life other than give you a false sense of security. :o) Still...when it doesnt work out you can always blame the stars!

If you look at star sign compatibility, it's fun for a giggle, but I would put no stock in it. A relationship will work if you want it to, not because of when you were born.
Sagittarius men are meant to be total players and the type to never settle for one woman. I have never met a more one-woman man than my husband.
But I agree with JC. If the relationship fails, blame your star signs. :)

balzac, no matter what anyone may say about cancers (emotional instability, issues with mothers), in my personal experience they are FAAAAABULOUS in bed! ;-) my college sweetheart and a past lover were both cancers, and they are forever enshrined in my personal hall of fame.
lambada, hmmm, maybe you have just chosen the wrong aries ladies - my dad's a scorpio, mom is an aries and they are utter soul mates, together for 40+ years. i could have sworn i read somewhere that the pairing can be quite legendary for longevity and passion
tia, i hear you about sagittarius guys - they get such bad press but the one i fell in love with was quite possibly the most devoted man alive.
horoscopes are loads of fun, but only for the good stuff. ignore the negative. in terms of chinese astrology, one of my nearest dearest most loyal friends is suposedly my deadly opposite sign, so...it's not always true!

I agree about the cancerian men being OH WOW in bed. Despite him being a complete A$$ in so many other ways, I would have stayed for the sex.
I never heard anything bad about sag men til I met hubby. But yeah, the websites make them out to be horrible. So not true.
I think that horriblescopes are good fun. Some things can be true, others, not so much. It's hard to paint everyone born between XX date and YY date with the same brush.
Out of curiosity, today, I did a search. I found this gem of a quote:
" The depth of the Scorpio's feelings terrifies the Sagittarius. A short-term relationship will only work if they are both tolerant. A marriage is virtually impossible. "
So, I should file for divorce now? :P

I am a Scorpio and I've been involved in 3 serious relationships. The first relationship was with a Taurus and it lasted for 20 years. We were opposites, but it made us a very good team. The second one was with an Aries. The man was charming and playful, but self absorbed and inconsiderate. It started great and ended up in disaster. My current relationship is with a Sagittarius and what a surprise...it's working so well! The depth of his thoughts and feelings go deeper than mine...and I find it an enriching experience. And oh man...he is such a willing participant in bed. ;)

I'll agree with MyHongKong...my darling sag hubby is truly enjoyable in bed. :) In the ways that matter, he is proving to be the best match for me as well.

My Thai fortune teller, who managed to list all my recent transgressions, has announced repeatedly that we were together in a previous life, this life, and the next life. (that might explain why when we met she said hello my husband! (sigh)) Although we fight, we will have sorted it out within five years. In the meantime we battle on. Madam has just tattoed my name on her butt which for a Thai (or anyone I guess) is significant. The saga continues. Just wish she wasn't Aries....

hi everyone- thank you for your very enlightening stories. Tia- I'm so glad that you and your hubby have proven the horror-scopes wrong. Justin-your Run for the Hills quip made me laugh out loud.
Lambada- are you sure your wife is not a friend of the fortune teller? try going to a chinese fortune teller and ask him for his reading!!
Well, I've somewhat concluded that just because the pairing is supposed to be easy, it doesnt necessarily mean it would work out and you'd love one another more than a harder/mismatched pairing, and vice versa. Hope this is the case for you.
I was with a Capricorn man for many years (very good compatibility according to the websites). Our union was a very long one, and I don't think anyone could/can love me as much as he did. He was extremely loyal and steadfast and a very sweet, responsible and thoughtful companion. However, we just lacked that passion for many years, even though we were cuddly close and could laugh all day together.
Right now I'm starting to think if passion is just some grease that eases the relationship in its initial stages, you know smoothen out the friction and differences
Mr Aries (the guy whom is interested in me)I've only met recently. It's just too early to tell if we'd be interested in one another after the passion goes down.I am afraid that I'd never find someone like Mr Capricorn who loved me to death (figuratively).
I know it sounds selfish or shallow. But having lived with and witnessed many years of my parent's dreadful union and listened to years of my bitter mom's advice, drummed into my subconscious/conscious mind, I'd actually found the perfect person (antithesis of my father) in Mr Capricorn. Alas, no passion left, just great friendship, we were like a contented happy old couple in their 70's.
*sigh* I could go on, but this is not the thread for it.

lambada: oh my...so you're on her posterior for posterity (or at least until she has it lased off) ;-)
a scarily accurate chinese geomancer once told me that most people had one - or in some cases none - "romance star", whatever that means. he claimed i had four, so i should just accept my fate and enjoy the alleged cornucopia of opportunities with the opposite sex that i would have until very old age. he told me this by way of answering my question on grandchildren, which i hope very much to have plenty of. (i then asked him if there was any way i could trade in those pesky stars for, say, a money or business star, he said no.)
he also told me i would be particularly targeted by rabbit men...this part proved to be true, three times so far! (cue twilight zone theme)

I always gravitated towards Leo's and queerarses (Aquarius)..the latter always broke my heart. Now I'm with a fellow Taurus and we are like two peas in a pod. Fabulously tactile.

Balzac: I am a huge advocate of passion and I think tis essential to keep that intense flame burning bright throughout a relationship. I know I could never settle for anything less. The acceptance compassionate love of companionship can be learnt... passion is instinctive... and indeed beautiful... and we all need that breathless wow factor/feeling... preferably constantly.
So said another Scorpion female...
pumpkin: 'fabulously tactile'... nice turn of phrase... mmm...

Aijin, they do say that Scorpios are the sexiest sign of all the signs. There is something to be said about passion...pure and simple. Love is all fine and wonderful, but to be left breathless.... Whew!
When you're in love with a Scorpio woman it's hard.
When you're in love with a Scorpio woman it's for real.
Goods hunts her, men wants her, everybody is looking for her.
When you're in love with a Scorpio woman it never ends.

Amen to that tia...
And when a Scorpio woman opens up her heart it had better be deserved... after all we are the most loyal folk...

How about a Scorpio man? What are they like?

Posted by balzac (488 days ago)
I've only known 1 scorpio man, my senior in university. I would say we were great as friends, there was chemistry, we could finish each other's sentences and we had this I-know-you-from-before connection.I didnt act on it as I was dating Mr Capricorn(long story-they both met me the same day).
Towards the end things got a lil ugly. Perhaps it was jealousy on his part mixed with his posessive passion. He had the capcacity of saying really mean things to hurt you on purpose. But that was this guy's personality perhaps. I wont attribute that to scorpio men in general

I'm desperately trying to recall certain characteristics of the diverse array of my loves in respect to their astrological signs but as tia stated it is really a gross generalization… and methinks you only attribute that trait to the person either as a justification or excuse…
If someone feels right then just go for it… and enjoy…
...and if it does not go according to plan you can always blame Venus’s sun being in uranus... and repeat as necessary or at least until alcohol or exhaustion overcomes...
(I am based in Tokyo)
Posted by tia (488 days ago)
If things go wrong, isn't usually because someone's head is in uranus...or his anu$? :P (sorry)
If I believe everything astrology says, I really should not have married my Sag hubby. A) Scorp and Sag are a bad match and B) Sag men are meant to be players and never settle down.

It provides an insight to a person's personality but it is definitely not the rule of thumb.

very true what balzac says above about the best geomancers being little old men who speak only chinese - my guy was exactly like that, from the mainland, zero english, so i had to bring a trusted friend to translate.

I had an astrological reading in the past and it was an interesting piece of infotainment. Though I am Virgo by birth, I was told that I exhibit more Scorpion qualities and traits. Husband is Aries, and we get along pretty well.
Her insight into my personality was spot on, but I'm not about to rearrange my life according to the details in my astrological chart. I know of plenty others who came to her for a reading and were pleased.

I am a Sagitarius and I know almost immediately if someone is the same sign. And, if we get along real well then they are probably Aries or Leo.
I do not believe in the fortune-telling junk. But, the signs I am suppose to get along with or not get along with ---- all true.
Oh, I don't ask before we go out.
