Apply for newborn to be Austrlian Citizen/passport

Hi, I am Australian & my wife is Chinese born American. Our son was born last week in HK & we have already received the birth certificate. I now want to register him as an Australian Citizen & passport holder.

Any ideas on the procedure & documents required??

It's a very simple process, the most difficult bit being getting an acceptable photo (full face, light background, eyes open, mouth closed, blank expression, nobody else in the photo...
Download form with requirements from Aust Govt website, then go to Consulate in Harbour Bldg, Wanchai. Takes about 10 days. Then apply for passport - takes about 14 days.
